The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild integrated electronic systems, where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system.
Duties
Install, modify overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate complex integrated electronics systems to include Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Fire Detection and Reporting Systems (Monaco), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), Hydrant Fuel Systems and Traffic Semaphore Systems.
Perform diagnostic testing of software and hardware functions as an aid in troubleshooting integrated system and subsystem components determining system integrity.
Use and maintain precision measurement tools, test equipment and hand and power tools.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Maintain inspections and maintenance records.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Heavy physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds more with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time on concrete or composition floors. Climbing and working in high places (towers) may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee can work in areas that are well lighted to poorly lighted, from climate controlled to exposure to ambient temperatures. Work is mostly performed in communications rooms, mechanical rooms, and sometimes outside in inclement weather. Exposure to the possibility of electric shock, burns from chemical or RF energy or hot solder.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
