The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a senior inventory management specialist, as the technical expert and advisor for the wholesale logistics item management of assigned groups of cyber weapon systems as needed by the USAF activities, Army, Navy, National Security Agency (NSA), and other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and as the Source of Supplies (SOS) for the Cyber Warfare Systems Branch.

Duties

DUTY 1: Supports the Cyber Warfare Systems Branch as a representative and spokesperson on inventory management, and on repair and return issues. Effectively plans, closely monitors, and coordinates materiel requirements in support of assigned cyber weapon systems undergoing repair, overhaul, and/or modification to ensure availability of materiel within time frames required to meet work schedules. DUTY 2: Performs work associated with management of items. DUTY 3: Determines current and future supply requirements, considering variables such as, cost, existing policies and procedures, data processing requirements, and other issues. DUTY 4: Analyzes and monitors planned or scheduled materiel requirement for forecasts and funds availability.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of specialized inventory management methods and techniques to resolve difficult inventory management issues and problems; knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships and interrelated processes; comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and funding processes related to inventory management functions. The incumbent must have thorough understanding of logistics-related functions within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division. Practical knowledge and understanding of the total logistics structure, including familiarity with National, Joint, DoD, and Signal Intelligence materiel control policies and procedures and Air Force processes, concepts, and techniques associated with wholesale supply level of operation. Incumbent must have knowledge and ability to competently perform statistical compilations and mathematical exercises, and ability to project, relates, and adapts existing situations to future requirements. Incumbent is required to have knowledge of DoD, NSA, AFMC, and CCSD logistics procedures and policies, and knowledge and skill in using automated supply databases for inventory management determinations. The incumbent effectively manage new, complex, or extensively modified supply systems. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of applicable customer service standards; knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods of assigned specializations and functions. Ability to analyze problems and to develop timely and economical solutions; to plan and organize work; to maintain good working relations; to originate new ideas, projects, studies, and methodologies. Knowledge of structure, contents, codes, internal and external interfaces, update procedures and uses of automated supply systems and databases; knowledge of sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance or advice to resolve supply problems. Ability to review, analyzes, and evaluates supply management programs; to communicate in writing and orally; ability to interpret specialized documentation and descriptions pertaining to equipment. Ability to stratify resources against approved programs; to plan, present, and execute budgets; to analyze budget impacts on programs; and to forecast long-term funding requirements. Ability to develop, prepares, coordinate, staff, and implements supply management policies, procedures, programs and directives. Ability to use office automation tools and techniques to design and generate reports, briefing materials, and/or comparable documents. Knowledge of policies, methods, and procedures for type classification of material/approval for service use; knowledge of policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment and supplies. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice dmg testing. Illegal dmg use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
