This position is located in the ACIO Infrastructure and Operations, DAS Information Systems and CIO, Assistant Secretary for Management/CFO, Departmental Offices, Department of the Treasury. The overall mission of cybersecurity at Treasury is to assure the appropriate protection of cyber information, services, and assets.
Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Be responsible for all phases of system engineering and integration associated with the life cycle of new systems and the modernization of existing systems and tools used by TSSSOC. This includes defining requirements, resolving critical problems, prioritizing levels of support, and/or developing, testing, and implementing new security related technologies.
Work with the stakeholders, both internal and external, to define requirements that are compliant with general federal laws, Department of Treasury IT policies and standards, Government Accountability Office (GAO), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congressional, and Executive Office directives and regulations on cybersecurity and other legislative mandates.
Assess potential impact on existing program requirements including vulnerability reporting criteria. Evaluates the feasibility of implementing new developments to enhance systems security and reliability. Develops, recommends, and implements approved security contingency plans, incident response plans, and disaster recovery procedures. Recommends new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of security assessment and authorization (SA&A) reviews.
Identify significant actual and/or potential cybersecurity problems, trends, and weaknesses. The incumbent recommends new policy and interprets existing policies and guidelines pertaining to cybersecurity. Provide advice and leadership on modifications and solutions pertaining to security aspects of the current TSSSOC infrastructure in order to protect Treasury systems' infrastructure. Develop acquisition specifications related to cybersecurity considerations and manages technical vendor relationships.
Qualifications

Specialized experience for the GS-14 level is one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in either the public or private sectors, which is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as proven proficiency and supportable (as evidenced in the resume) hands-on experience in ALL of the following:
Designing, implementing and administering applications in a Microsoft Server environment; AND
Developing, implementing and maintaining system monitoring agents and tools.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
