The Environment of Care (EOC) Coordinator will oversee and manage the Environment of Care Assessment and Management Program of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Healthcare System (NF/SGVHS) in the effort to maintain compliance with the applicable standards for patient and non-patient care facilities.
Duties
Responsible for administration of NF/SGVHS EOC rounds in accordance with local EOC policy.
Responsible for oversight of EOC rounds, coordinating completion of EOC round inspections with required team members and coordinating transportation of EOC team where applicable.
Conducts and documents safety and occupational health findings during these rounds to ensure compliance with regulatory safety and occupational health requirements using the automated EOC Assessment and Compliance Program.
Processes all findings identified during all EOC rounds to ensure they are clear and accurate and ensure findings are submitted to the responsible party for corrective action within 24 hours.
Responsible for tracking and trending of EOC round findings, corrective action monitoring and for presenting this information in a clear and concise manner to the EOC committee on a monthly basis.
Develops, organizes, and maintains the records of EOC rounds as directed.
Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, typing a variety of information, filing, submitting emails and other correspondences in support of the EOC program and FMS Safety Department.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/20/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Compiling data to determine discrepancies and provide improvement recommendations.
Create reports and spreadsheets to ensure accurate monitoring of program results.
Strong ability to work independently to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities.
Utilize software programs such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics.
Communicates with a variety of individuals by answering telephones, referring service employees, visitors, medical center management, contractors and providing information.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of with job involve working in a sedentary office environment, walking through various work areas to conduct inspections and weekly motor vehicle operation. Incumbent must be able to move around the office, walk to other offices throughout the medical center carrying light objects such as correspondence, supplies, and be able to drive to various NFSG Sites in North Central Florida and the Panhandle. Some standing, bending, and stooping, is required. The work is performed in in various settings such as office areas, engineering shops, and medical care areas. The work area has adequate light, heat and is ventilated.
