About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Incumbent will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical duties in support of meeting the department's objectives, mission, and operating programs.
Duties
Gather and analyze data from a variety of sources for special projects.
Review administrative program guidance, policies and procedures from higher authority to determine effect on assigned mission.
Assist Health System Specialist with tracking and following up on personnel actions.
Maintain a suspense system for all assigned taskers.
Utilize automated Human Resource systems such as the Defense Medical Human Resources System-internet (DMHRSi) to enter and retrieve data.
Retrieve data from a variety of software systems to assist in the development of statistical data and special reports.
Provide administrative support for department meeting such as taking minutes, setting agendas, completing room set up, and/or confirming room availability.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized performing administrative duties such as, preparing timekeeping, travel orders, awards, and/or performance ratings for the department and utilizing office automation software to create reports, graphs, and/or draft correspondences. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
