The focus of the PMO is engineering, acquisition and second-level engineering software maintenance for the FAA's automation systems. The goal is for the student trainee to become familiar with programs, projects and functions of the organization.
Duties
This is an Internship position under FAA's Gateways Program. The PMO provides program and acquisition management for infrastructure programs that transform, modernize and sustain the National Airspace System (NAS). The goal is for the student trainee to become familiar with programs, projects and functions of the organization.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- Gateways Interns meeting all program requirements may become permanent without further competition.
Qualifications
FV-C: To qualify the applicant must have completed one (1) full academic year of post-high school study. APPOINTMENT - If selected, your appointment may not exceed a total of 120 days after graduation.
AGREEMENT: All participants must sign a written Gateways Internship Agreement with the FAA that clearly identifies expectations of the appointment such as duties, length of appointment, work schedule, training, mentorship, etc.
CONVERSION: Although it is not guaranteed, an intern may be converted from the Internship program to a permanent excepted service position without further competition after successful completion of the educational program (awarding of degree), completion of a minimum of 640 hours of career- related work, required training, mentorship, and other requirements in accordance with the intern's participant agreement.
TERMINATION: Participation in this program may be terminated at any time.
