Duties
This vacancy is for a Fall 2024 internship. This positions is in the Office of Electric Reliability.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- A background investigation is required.
- Relocation expenses will not be paid.
- You must meet the eligibility and qualification requirements.
- You must submit proof of enrollment in a degree-seeking program.
- You must submit transcripts at the time of application.
- You may be required to divest certain energy-related securities.
- This is not a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Eligibility: In order to be eligible for our Internship Program, you must:
Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on a half- to full-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND
Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of your appointment; AND
Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade).

You can qualify based on your education, OR one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level, OR have a combination education and experience. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with cyber security and industry standards used to protect critical energy infrastructure.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
