About the position: This is a Flexible (Flex) position located at the Ft Eustis Club on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Flex positions have no guaranteed hours but can work 0-40 hours per week. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work.

Duties

Monitors operations of a club or assigned area, normally during absence of the manager and assistant manager, and normally at night or on weekends. Serves as person in charge of the club during assigned shift, maintaining overall security of the club resources including cash, controlled forms, consumable products, non-consumable products, fixtures and furnishing. Responsible for issue, receipt and control of cash boxes. Verify cash counts of funds in by cashiers. Reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during the assigned shift and ensures they are carried out as planned by management. Assist with set up and clean-up of parties according to party plan. Ensures that only authorized personnel use the facility, and that club rules, regulations and established procedures are followed. Responsible for conducting club cards checks. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer problems. Provides instruction and guidance to all club staff members ·on functions taking place during the shift. When workflow exceeds scheduled manpower, this position will ensure that other personnel in the club are temporarily shifted to assist the understaffed area. May assist bartender in setting up bar. May be required to work as a cashier. May monitor inventory, place and receive food and beverage orders food track or similar software. Completes all closing checklists to include sanitation fire and security and prepares a report of all significant occurrences during the shift. Inspects and secures facility at the end of the shift. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate,
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. Experience which provides knowledge of club, restaurant, and/or retail operation is desirable. Must have experience which demonstrates ability to provide work direction to other-employees and knowledge of fire, safety, and health regulations. Must be able to effectively communicate with others and possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate, and satisfactorily complete installation, state, and national criminal background checks.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
