About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Senior Concept Development Analyst at the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Center, Future Warfare Center, located in Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Duties

Responsible for developing, coordinating, synchronizing, and prioritizing staff actions in conjunction with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the Army Futures Command (AFC), and their subordinate commands. Serve as a senior SMDC CDID representative on all space, cyber, and missile defense initiatives to the AFC, Futures and Concepts Center. Provides senior level concept development and requirements generation expertise to the Chief, Concept Integration Branch, Chief, Concept Development Division, and the Director, USASMDC CDID on specific requirements to each Major Staff Element Dir. Serve as a subject matter expert advisor on space, high altitude, cyberspace, global ballistic missile defense, and integrated missile defense requirements. Serve as the analyst for determining, stating and documenting concepts, doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities and policy requirements for space global ballistic and integrated missile defense. Provide expertise in and facilitates use of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System processes and procedures used to develop DOTMLPF-P requirements and solutions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

  • and a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementLeadershipPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-03/GS-13).
