About the Position: Serve as the Senior Advisor and Liaison for Intelligence, Modernization & Equipping Policy to the Chief of Legislative Liaison with responsibility to advise on policy and funding provisions related to all authorization legislation. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Prepare the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff for their annual testimony on the Army's posture and budget requests. Apprise leadership of House and Senate action and concerns during the legislative and budget processes. Plan, organize and execute engagements and briefings for Members of Congress, Congressional Committees and Army Staff in support of Army Legislative objectives. Facilitate open dialogue to build trust and confidence with the Congress. Monitor legislation important to the Army as it moves through the congressional process. Serve working groups to develop congressional action plans.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
