About the Position: The Position is with the Futures and Concepts Center, Futures Integration Directorate (FID) Fort Eustis, VA duty station. The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Support Specialist.
Duties
Serve as Administrative Support Specialist coordinates, integrates, and synchronizes staff actions, events, and activities personally affecting and involving the Director.
Receive calls and visitors, determines urgency and priority of call through inquiry, and makes appropriate referral or disposition.
Serve as the authoritative source on correspondence requirements in the preparation of documents for signature by higher level officials.
Analyze and evaluates administrative issues that are diverse in nature.
Oversee the implementation of the Records Management Program to ensure Department of Army (DA) policies are followed.
Carries out special assignments or requirements from the Director that involve research where identifying information may be vague or misleading.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- A one year probationary period may be required in accordance with agency policy.
- This Position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized experience for GS -09:
One year of specialized experience which includes which includes: 1) experience in the operation of MS office automation software applications, the Internet, and other typical business technologies; 2) experience in reviewing final correspondence and action papers submitted to ensure that the material is properly related to the basic issue or request; 3) experience with receiving calls and visitors, determining urgency and priority of call through inquiry, and make appropriate referral or disposition. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
