Duties

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position you will serve as an Information Systems Security Manager within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer, Compliance Division. Typical duties include: -Providing oversight in the development of security authorization packages, e.g., system security plans, contingency plans, etc., and conducting risk assessments, contingency plan tests, and other related security assessment and authorization. -Addressing cyber security risks through preparing, implementing, monitoring, and updating security authorizations products. -Initiating, directing and participating in the full lifecycle of cyber security assessments of IT systems and networks. -Evaluating and Approving Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) to correct findings of non-compliance. -Providing recommendation on implementation strategies and possible policy updates based on industry best practices and governing directives. The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Developing information technology systems security authorization documentation; and Conducting risk assessment and analysis of planned and installed information systems; and Collecting and analyzing technical and management data associated with Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliance, cyber security maintenance, initiatives, or policies; and Monitoring and evaluating systems' continuously for compliance with federal, state, local, or tribal requirements, such as reviewing vulnerability scans, audit logs, plans of action and milestones (POA&M).
