This position is located in Service Center Operations Directorate, Nebraska Service Center. As an Operations Support Assistant (OA), you will provide a variety of supply and warehouse support duties essential to the operation of USCIS.

Duties

The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity. Provides support with Human Resources by preparing and processing personnel actions; providing benefit information; timekeeping; assisting with performance management; maintaining records, coordination and scheduling training. Supports Property and Fleet Management by updating systems, performing inventories, managing excess property disposal; inventory of supplies, forms; maintaining fleet; maintenance and repairs; tracking fleet expenses. Assists with the Facilities Management by serving as a point of contact for building issues, space planning and facility requirements, coordinating matters with General Service Administration, lessor, contractors, and other building occupants. Assists with security issues with matters relating to employee, facility, computer, and document security, access control, and documenting reporting issues. Participates in emergency planning. Communications emergency plans and security procedures. Assist with procurement by preparing requisitions for purchasing goods and services; Assists in Budget and Finance by monitoring and inputting financial data relating to operation; collects data for budget requests and budget expenditure. Supports Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation Programs by maintaining health and safety logs and training records, case files, reviewing OWCP claims, responding to inquires, preparing reports, and posting program information.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/13/2024. Time in Grade does not apply to Delegated Examining Announcements, any reference to Time in Grade in the questionnaire will not apply to the rating and ranking of applicants. GS-05: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Using word processing to edit and reformat lengthy correspondence and reports; Gathering data for routine reports; Maintaining transaction logs, office files and records; Ordering routine equipment and services; Reviewing forms and other documents for completeness; Preparing graphs and charts. OR You may substitute successful completion of 4 years above high school for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours. GS-06: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level, you qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal government, with skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position You must have experience performing the following duties: Performing complex office automation duties requiring different approaches and methods from one assignment to another; Providing routine information and assistance on a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the office; Maintaining subject matter files, technical instructions, and/or operating procedure. GS-07: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade levels, you qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal government, with the skills needed to perform successfully the duties of the position: Analyzing and evaluating variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the office; Retrieving information from other software systems (e.g., databases, spreadsheet, graphics, and word processing), analyzing data for inclusion in reports and publications; Preparing personal actions, providing benefits information, serving as timekeeper, coordinating and scheduling training and maintaining records; Tracking and providing information regarding employee and labor relations matters, performing various tasks to assist in administering these programs.
