This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Combat Identification - Friendly Force Tracking Branch Chief to manage resources, priorities, and activities to ensure execution and completion of tasks consistent with Directorate goals and objectives.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST (FRIENDLY FORCE TRACKING ANL) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves in the Joint Fires Integration Division for the Joint Staff, Deputy Directorate South for Cyber, Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (DDS C5I) of the Joint Staff as a Management and Program Analyst. Works closely with counterparts representing the U.S. Services, CCMDs, Agencies, the Joint Staff, NATO, Partner Nations, and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Coordinates multiple partner nations across NATO and others to form and direct policy for friendly force tracking initiatives. Forms teams of subject matter experts to demonstrate FFT initiatives during the JCS annual Bold Quest demonstration. Provides program managerial functions, and engagement oversight of key initiatives in the Friendly Force Tracking Section.

  • Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours including evenings, weekend, and holidays. Will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.
  • Must perform occasional travel away from the normal duty station and must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Identifying applications, including Command and Control (C2) systems and Common Operational Picture developing resolutions, approaches, funding, and program goals; Coordinating multiple partner nations across NATO and others to form and direct policies for friendly force tracking initiatives; Leading and authoring friendly force tracking actions fielded to the services, and writing new policies implemented by Command and Control and services; Guiding and assessing the Friendly Force Tracking Section; Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
