You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Emergency Planning Division, Executive Support Staff of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will be responsible to monitor effectiveness and coordinate overall management of complex casualty responses, to include casualty control, radiological, spills, and other major disaster exercises or responses.
You will be responsible for maintaining a single standard for complex drills; coordinating drill preparation; conducting, evaluating and providing feedback to training organizations on effectiveness of casualty preparedness.
You will be responsible for overall coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of casualty preparedness.
You will have knowledge of the Incident Command System and be able to establish standard response systems and organizations for all types of responses.
You will frequently participate in the development of new drill program requirements, scenarios, instructions, and guidelines, due to the unique and complex nature of the work and as a result of exercises or evaluations.
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling complex drills, assessments, and investigations to evaluate level of preparedness.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assessing, evaluating casualty preparedness and emergency drill programs (e.g. casualty control, spills, major disaster exercises or responses) to monitor compliance and provide feedback on efficiency of emergency management.
