You will serve as a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT - CODE 200 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will develop, implement, maintain and update a sustainable Engineering and Planning Department (EPD) Emergency Management Program aligned to the Shipyard Emergency Management Plan (i.e.. NAVSHIPYDPEARLANDIMFINST 3440.17).
You will maintain awareness of local and national shipyard emergency incidents and practices when responding to emergencies (e.g. disaster preparedness, safety, fire, shipboard damage control, accidents, reactor safety).
You will act the EPD Point of Contact (POC) for Emergency Response Preparations.
You will coordinate EPD actions during emergency readiness drills and exercises.
You will administer the EPD emergency response training program for all scenarios including natural disasters and radiological emergencies.
You will collaborate and share knowledge with other responsible principals leading emergency response programs to identify, recommend and implement initiatives to improve resources and response performance.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing emergency management work to include interpreting and applying shipyard emergency procedures and practices for emergency response, firefighting, radiologic controls, reactor safety and shipboard damage control programs, and developing, conducting and assessing emergency programs to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of incidents or disasters, and to reduce the loss of life and property and harm to the environment.
