The Program Support Assistant (OA), assigned to the Primary Care (Home Telehealth) team. Provides administrative support for the Home Telehealth Team and collaborates with Primary Care providers using several different types of Telehealth in-home messaging devices, with the objectives of improving communication among the Veteran.

Duties

The incumbent provides the full range of administrative support to the Primary Care Nursing (Home Telehealth) staff. The incumbent maintains effective office systems, procedures and communications, making changes as necessary to ensure that smooth patterns of work and information flow to meet the needs of the Primary Care Nursing (Home Telehealth) staff management and staff. Incumbent interacts daily with internal and external stakeholders by telephone, correspondence, or in person. Performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran. Primary duties include (but are not limited to): Serve as the point of contact for administrative support and clerical support to support management and coordination of the Primary Care Nursing (Home Telehealth) staff and programs Responsible for ensuring accurate data collection, developing monthly reports and meeting deadlines. Experience with office operations software programs such as word processing programs, Outlook, VISTA, CONCUR Travel, TMS, WebHR, Excel, PowerPoint, CPRS, VATAS, Lync, and Web based application and tracking programs. Maintain a suspense/tracking database to ensure that all timed correspondence is acted upon within the prescribed limits. Track Service Policies and Memoranda to proactively update prior to suspense dates. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, medical center including PACT team members, VISN staff, community agencies, vendors, and others who contact the office for information, question, issues needing resolution. Maintain inventory of total equipment costs, and completing/compiling reports pertaining to these costs to the local and/or VISN office as requested. Assist in monitoring the budget for the Home Telehealth, as well as assisting in compiling and submitting various budget report to local offices as requested. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/15/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. This is an Office Automation (OA) position. You must self-certify that you an type at least 40 words per minute. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: 1) Filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, and using and completing forms. 2) Works and Communicate with clients and customers (e.g., any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit provides, including individuals who work in your agency or in other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to satisfy their expectations. 3) Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. 4) Uses computer, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Problem Solving Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Office work, recurring walking, as well as sedentary involving sitting at a desk. Work involves some standing; bending and reaching; manual dexterity, including typing and managing paper forms; use of a computer/keyboard; and mental concentration. Capability to travel by, or drive, a golf cart on campus between various buildings.
