Duties
The Antitrust Division (Division) is seeking to fill a Program Analyst (Deputy Chief of Staff) position in the Office of the Assistant Attorney General (OAAG) within the Antitrust Division (Division) and reports to the Chief of Staff (COS). The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst (Deputy Chief of Staff) performing administrative assignments of a highly sensitive nature.
As a Program Analyst (Deputy Chief of Staff) in the OAAG, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Establishing and developing policies, plans, and objectives to support the broad mission, goals, and policies of the Division.
Reviewing and evaluating a broad range of objectives, policies and procedures for broad, goal-oriented programs within the Division.
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring proper and timely attention is devoted to high level, high priority, urgent, and/or controversial issues, problems, or situations arising in the course of managing Division programs and responding to policy and action initiatives generated by OAAG, the Department, and other Departmental executive-level offices.
Developing long-range plans, goals, and objectives and plans, implementing, and coordinating a variety of special projects and studies of interest for the OAAG and COS concerning all phases of OAAG and Division operations.
Providing advisory services to the Division's senior management and supervisors on extremely sensitive, complex, or controversial correspondence, alerting the COS and other key officials to the pros and cons of various alternatives to achieving the most sensitive and appropriate product possible.
Managing key administrative processes, prioritizes workloads, and troubleshoots problems.
Monitoring the progress of work, including adherence to methods and procedures, and prioritization of the work, including the development of assignments and schedules.
Giving advice or instruction and/or procedural guidance to Division employees on both work and administrative matters.
Serving as liaison for the COS with OAAG staff and other senior Division officials ensuring that the priorities of the OAAG and the COS are carried out in a timely and effective manner and providing guidance and direction on behalf of the COS.
Reviewing and evaluating relevant documents to respond to media and program requests involving sensitive and highly visible program issues.
Participating with the COS in processes associated with making and communicating critical policy and program management decisions.
Facilitating the preparation of a broad range of information resources and documents critical to policy and decision-making processes. These include decision memoranda, information memoranda, talking points, and briefing papers that typically involve late-breaking topics and issues with urgent turnaround times.
Reviewing, evaluating, and critiquing contributions from various staffs for required reports ensuring information correctly reflects Division policy perspectives and vision.
Attending meetings with the COS and delivering presentations in both formal and informal settings, as directed.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. This experience must be identified in your resume.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the GS-11 level include:
Managing key administrative processes and prioritizing workload;
Providing advisory services to senior management of an organization on sensitive and complex correspondence;
Developing long-range plans, goals and objectives for special projects; and
Establishing policies to support the mission of an organization
To qualify at the GS-13 level your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
