This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Assistant Commandant for Resources (CG-8), Office of Resource Management (CG-83), Pay and Benefits Division (CG-832), Washington, DC.
Duties
You will serve as Lead Management & Program Analyst (Financial), responsible for management of the Personnel Allowance and the financial/budget activities associated with military pay and benefits accounts and financial analyses which evaluate the actual or potential effectiveness of the Coast Guard’s military workforce management program and ensure congressional mandates are implemented. Additionally, providing critical financial support for an effective workforce entitlements account, the Retired Pay account, the Permanent Change of Station account, the Medical account, and the Retired Medical account.
Requirements
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
- Time-in-grade requirements must be met by closing date.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-13 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience includes experience that involved extensive operational experience in Management and Program Analyst positions.

Evaluating and analyzing the financial aspects of projects and programs
Leading projects and analyzing potential effects of budgetary actions
Preparing budgetary and financial reports
