You will serve as a PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Administration and Resources Division, Human Resources & Organizational Management (HROM) Branch of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will analyze trends to business operations problems requiring attention, and advises managers and staff. You will gather data on business operations plans, changes, effectiveness, resource usage, trends, etc., comply the necessary statistical and narrative data required and coordinate compilation of necessary accompanying charts and tables. You will work with the system manager to identify problems in the personnel system and make recommendations to improve systems, business operations, and procedures with reference to the automation and integration of data processing systems. You will provide assistance to travelers, certifying officers, budget personnel on resolution of travel issues, accuracy of travel databases, and certifications; review program data to ensure the avoidance of fraud and waste via the travel card. You will perform clerical duties, maintaining the director and deputy’s calendar, scheduling appointments and meeting, answers telephones, takes messages, and receives visitors. You will initiate, monitor, and track Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs), using automated systems. You will provide assistance to customers/troubleshoots the performance management system, input training data and award information, retrieve employee data and Standard Form 50. You will provide guidance on changes to administrative procedures and policies.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supporting administrative operations in the areas of correspondence management, travel management, procurement of office supplies, and communication with customers; AND planning, coordinating, and performing a variety of business and administration operation services in the areas of personnel, budget, and procurement/logistics; personnel systems information and data requirements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

LLM, if related

OR

Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent.Education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
