You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE located in Panama City, FL.
Duties
You will follow safety instructions (e.g., practices, procedures, rules, regulations) to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
You will review blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, and technical manuals for new construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
You will translate instructions and specifications to provide technical direction for a group of maintenance workers.
You will analyze all phases of projects (e.g. cost, utilization of manpower, work accomplishments) to evaluate work progress and cost.
You will assign work to employees to verify facilities maintenance and repair work is completed timely.
You will inspect completed facilities maintenance and repair work to verify it meets work order requirements and established standards of quantity and quality.
You will review or spot check maintenance work in progress to verify procedures are being followed.
You will direct work priorities, project schedules, or detailed work plans to meet production requirements for maintenance work.
You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences for maintenance work projects.
You will verify maintenance work is completed on time, within cost, and to quality levels required by monitoring execution of work requests, service tickets, and preventative maintenance actions.
Requirements
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
