This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at the TACOM Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Identify and recommend interchangeable items. Maintain records concerning location, names and quantities of stock. Review stockage levels weekly. Initiate action to replenish stock in order to maintain a 15-30 day stockage level. Determine serviceability of parts and code turn-in documents accordingly. Make repairs such as replacing handles on hammers, sharpening bits etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a pre-employment Personnel Security Investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles and must possess and maintain installation driving privileges.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Tools and Parts Attendant (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Tools and Parts Attendant (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) tasks. I can determine, identify, and select tools and parts described by users for intended use; handle and turn-in of hazardous waste and materials; operate a 6,000 pound forklift to load and unload items off another vehicle; and operate a motor vehicle to include 1/2 ton pickup truck, light trucks and other vehicles weighing up to and including 5 tons on highways. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Performs work on hard surfaces. Work requires almost continuous standing, walking,stooping and bending. Frequently lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier items normally with handling equipment and/or other workers available to assist. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is generally performed in well-lighted, heated and ventilated area which occasionally is drafty. Work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Is frequently exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.
