The primary purpose of this position is to utilize logistics expertise to develop, implement, direct, and/or function as part of a logistics management operation for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) in support of acquisition and sustainment phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.
Duties
As a technical expert, responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total_cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment and disposal.
Develops, refines, analyzes, and issues logistics policies for assigned programs applicable to one or more DoD components.
Exercises full program responsibility for automated logistics systems.
Serves as a senior command representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at the next lower grade GS-11/NH-02, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience with weapons system Acquisition Logistics and/or like experience; knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives. Typically, life cycle logistics operations that encompass the entire process of systematically identifying, developing, assessing, purchasing, and/or upgrading logistics requirements through the acquisition process. Included are those who manage/support acquisition logistics activities associated with the procurement, integration, and/or fielding/sustainment of weapon systems and/or equipment or system modifications.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11/NH-02 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the NH-03 grade level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS/NH position or held a GS/NH position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS/NH civil service employees or are prior GS/NH civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives.
2. Knowledge of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods.
3. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the logistics management program processes.
4. Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment
5. Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
