About the Position: This position is located with the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistic Readiness Center, duty stationed at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Duties

Sets priorities of workforce based on the mission requirements of the organization and that of the 7th SFG and other major customers. Studies requirements for logistical support and as required briefs directors, committees, and Commanders, on the impact that continuance that such trends will have on the installation. Provides advice and alternate courses of action and coordination to resolve problems. Reads and interprets incoming policy and directives and develops procedural guidance. Coordinates and oversees the operations performed by contractors and serves as an Alternate Contracting Officer Representative (aCOR) as required. Prepares and/or assists various CORs in the development of reports for the budget execution review, yearend reports, cost and performance reports, control of funds and statements of review and analysis Serves as Logistics Readiness Center Camp Bull Simons Division Chief, and provides supervision, technical guidance, and direction to subject matter experts of functional areas of supply management. Oversees a workforce comprised of both Department of the Army Civilians and contractor personnel performing various logistical functions. Manages, supervises, and coordinates all logistical activities for a small but complex installation supporting the critical mission in support of the 7th Special Forces Group and other customers. Relied upon for technical and managerial guidance and is responsible for keeping the Command advised on pertinent matters.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
