The primary purpose of this position, Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild integrated electronic systems, where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system.
Duties
Install, modify overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot repairs, rebuild, align, and calibrate complex integrated electronics systems to include Energy Management and Control Systems, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
Perform diagnostic testing of software and hardware functions as an aid in troubleshooting integrated systems and subsystem components determining system integrity.
Use and maintain, precision measurement tools, test equipment and hand and power tools.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Maintain inspection and maintenance records.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability to Do the Work of the Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.

PYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds, and occasional objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time on concrete or composition floors. Climbing and working in high places (towers) may be required. Moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing up to 24 pounds more with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time on concrete or composition floors. Climbing and working in high places (towers) may be required.
WORK ENVIROMENT: The work is done inside and outside during extreme weather conditions and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy, and in
cramped areas. Subject to discomfort from face masks or other protective devices when there is a possibility of exposure to toxic refrigerants, noxious gases, fumes, or acids. Subject to possible burns from refrigerants. Works near moving parts of equipment and machinery, energized electrical circuits, sharp metal edges, loud noises, and toxic fumes, which could cause cuts, burns from electrical or RF energy or hot solder, and respiratory ailments.
