About the Position: Serves as Section Chief and works under the supervision of the Chief, Personnel Operations Branch or Chief, Personnel Services Branch with supervisory responsibility for managing one of the following military personnel sections: personnel reassignment, Family Travel and Out-Processing Center. Guidelines consist of written and oral instructions regarding basic policies and the nature and priority of assignments.

Duties

Technically and administratively, plans, organizes, leads, and controls the operation of one or more military personnel programs within the assigned section Reviews and interprets directives, regulations, policies and established standard procedures to ensure Soldier are qualified for selected programs. Interprets laws, rules, regulation, directives, decisions and policies Military Human Resources functions and procedures to resolve complex issues. Assigns, reviews and evaluates work of subordinates and monitors accomplishments.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to work overtime, planned and unplanned.
  • Must be able to travel using commercial, military or other mode of transportation.
  • Must be able to on-call as required.
  • Designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

OR Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
