Serves as the Staff Actions Specialist in the Headquarters (HQ), Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), Office of the Director, Administration and Legislative Affairs Office. The primary purpose of this position is to provide high level staff support to DeCA's Senior Leadership and DeCA's High level external contacts.
Duties
Provides continuity and consistency with the organization, exercising sound judgement and initiative to keep the work in appropriate channels.
Reviews documents to ensure subject matter and writing style reflect current Agency policies.
Responsible for developing and implementing actions in support of the mission.
Assisting in the tracking of outdated issuance maintained in an electronic database.
Maybe responsible for overseeing the Government Purchase Card program and Defense Travel System.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0301 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify. Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-12 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Assist with coordinating and planning special activities, ceremonies, official visits, and similar corporate events for the Agency.
Employ effective interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
Process Congressional inquiries and tasks which may involve sensitive, private information.
Knowledge of the Agency and its mission and structure, as well as those of the military services and other DoD Agencies.
Familiarity with the principles and practices of commercial industry wholesale/retail food and grocery management, merchandising, and marketing.
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. For GS-12: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-11.
Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a nontemporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
