Serves as Physical Access Control System (PACS) Administrator of the Facilities Management Service at the VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida. Has full primary control and maintenance of a comprehensive key and lock distribution and database system, as well as an electronic physical access control database at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, and the Lee County VA Healthcare Clinic.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for database management of three separate complex security databases.
Inventory database of space keys and lock cores.
Create new employee profiles; update employee profiles as needed.
Provide training to users of the system on proper procedures for using card readers.
Assist with security audits performed by Police Service and as required by management.
Generate reports and recommend improvements.
Program device inputs/outputs in database when new security devices are added to the system.
Create new locations and employee profiles in the Lock and Key Database.
Perform annual audit of all data in the KeyWizard database.
Deliver keys to employees; perform lock audits to verify locations of locks.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/13/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized experience: Applicants must have one (1) full year of specialized experience related to this position. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Perform clerical/administrative duties in an office environment
Answer and direct phone calls; preparing correspondence
Maintain files/records; and using a computer to perform a variety of support tasks.
Use good verbal and written communication skills and perform assignments independently with minimal oversight.
NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The PACS Administrator will most often work seated at a desk. Occasionally training staff or troubleshooting issues and will require incumbent to stand, walk, bend, climb, or crawl. Work is primarily done inside in constructed areas with heating and ventilation. On occasion work will be done in areas that for safety reasons will not have heat and/or ventilation. For security purposes the individual will need to accompany any contractors on site for equipment installations, often requiring multiple floors of travel and possibly coordination between buildings.
