This position is located in the Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN6) at the Salisbury VA Medical Center as a support assistant to the Lead Care Coordinator and other staff of the Home Telehealth (HT) Program.
Duties
Major Duties
Collects, compiles and/or tracks statistical information in support of program operations to access status or outcomes in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives; receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures.
Uses software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports; and assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies.
Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains patient data and retrieves a variety of computerized data.
Tracks and trends issues related to program effectiveness and role implementation.
Responsible for helping to assure that all staff members are aware of current Decision Support System (DSS) codes for HT and names of clinics utilized by program.
Utilizes statistical data to compile a monthly workload report(s) for all program staff.
Assists Care Coordinator in keeping HT Clinical Program Director apprised of patient census and any changes/problems that might be encountered.
Participates in performance improvement activities related to the program quality improvement process and offers performance improvement advice to program staff.
Responsible for providing data/reports related to the administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of HT for the VISN 6 Network Office and HT Program.
Operates web-based software for telehealth program as well as Access database for VISN office.
Assists in the preparation and management of the HT Program budget, and will include effective utilization of resources and frequent fiscal coordination.
Projects and tracks the annual estimates of a variety of programmatic costs such as, salary projections, estimates of equipment leases and purchases, car lease costs, office supplies, and travel/tuition yearly costs.
Compiles and submits various budget reports to VISN office as requested as well as maintaining accurate account of actual expenditures.
Establishes and maintains inventory of all telehealth equipment including purchased
and leased equipment, all repairs and costs; reviewing leased equipment monthly bill and verifying correct amount due based on accurate information that is maintained on Excel spreadsheets.
May perform other directly related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/19/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience with clerical and administrative procedures, various office skills; and carrying out day-today administrative support activities; Working in an administrative position which required preparing correspondence, reports and graphs utilizing a variety of computer program. Skill in the use of a variety of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and other software applications; Interacting with executive leadership in the VA and private sector, contractors, staff members as well as Veterans, their family members and/or legal representatives; Provide/submit requested information to ensure all due dates are met in a timely and satisfactory manner; Managing a fast-paced office to include, establishing priorities, set up, reschedule appointments; Use own initiative to follow-up on action items and time-sensitive issues with appropriate staff members.

Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary, but a great deal of walking to all parts of the Medical Center is required since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and
administrative services. On occasion, the need may arise to provide technical support in veterans' homes, Assisted Living facilities or Adult Day Care Centers.
