The primary purpose of this position is to provide supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage, or other items that are unique to the organization's mission or are seldom handled.
Duties
Conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling.
Determines stock levels needed for both recurring and non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
Prepares recurring and special reports. Compiles statistics from data requiring substantial analysis, interpretation, and development of new formats. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with team members, related functions, and operating officials.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions, and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for inventory, production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items. Knowledge of office automation software procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Knowledge of the nature and capability of different software packages and the integration compatibility among different software types. Knowledge of standard office equipment such as electric/electronic typewriters, copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems to perform substantial range of office automation support. Knowledge relative to safeguarding and maintaining control of both HAZMA T and HAZW ASTE materials that are used/generated in the day to day operations of the AFOTEC Central Staging Facility.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions. Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Knowledge of the Federal, State, Local, and Military procedures required in handling, tracking, disposing, clean up, and reporting of HAZMAT and resulting HAZWASTE.
Skill in typing, a qualified typist is required. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems.
Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate 2 to 15 ton gasoline, diesel, and electric forklifts.
Ability to conduct a physical inventory (to include office supplies, ADPE equipment, and other field deployable equipment used in test support) at multiple, geographically dispersed field locations in order to reconcile/initiate appropriate action for discrepancies.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
