The main responsibilities of this position include the administration of the Nursing Service and the Medical Center.
Duties
Major Duties Include (but not limited to):
Handles multiple software packages such as Microsoft Word, Electronic Scheduling Package, Excel, Outlook, and Vista.
Manages leave and time policies.
Populate different databases as assigned to support data compilation.
Correspond correctly and have understanding for any correspondence or policy used by the facility.
Initiates / follows up on needed work orders as assigned including schedules, leave balances, FMLA paper work, tracking exceptions, and on the job injury issues.
Work with minimum supervision and adhere to deadlines regarding accurate time keeping, publishing schedules in VATAS
Work Schedule: 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Multiple schedules.

Qualifications

Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skill.
40 words per minute typing speed.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
GS-05 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Experience with data entry using spreadsheets and databases.
Tracks leave balances for assigned employees.
Provides guidance to staff regarding leave policies.
Tracks agreements for Supervisors.
Communicates clearly and timely to staff and customers.
OR,
GS-05 Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. GS-05 Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the high school level, (i.e. 6 months of specialized experience and 3 years of education above the high school level). (Transcript Required)
NOTE: Only education beyond the second year can be used in combination with specialized experience to qualify for this grade.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Incumbent must be able to move around the office, walk to other offices throughout the medical center carrying light objects such as correspondence, supplies, etc. Some standing, bending, and stooping, is required when filing.
