The main responsibilities of this position include the administration of the Engineering Work Order System. PMI schedules, key control, and other various clerical assignments.

Duties

Major Duties Include (but not limited to): Responsible for the base radio system for the medical center communicating with engineering personnel. Closes out all work orders and entering pertinent information into the computer and maintain all files relating to the work order system. Responsible for screening and handling all work order related calls. Responsible for maintaining accurate key control records for all keys issues. Keep abreast of space and room assignments to ensure key records are accurate. Answers telephone calls at the number designated for work requests, determining the exact nature of the telephone request. Prints preventive maintenance schedules each month for all M&R shops, Utility Systems Section and Grounds Section. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/01/2023. Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skill. 40 words per minute typing speed. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-05 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Accurately enters requests into the Automated Engineering Management System. Receives work order requests. Central communication point for all work order requests. Uses a computerized database management system. Provides monthly work order reports. OR, GS-05 Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (Transcript Required) OR, GS-05 Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the high school level, (i.e. 6 months of specialized experience and 3 years of education above the high school level). (Transcript Required) NOTE: Only education beyond the second year can be used in combination with specialized experience to qualify for this grade. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Incumbent must be able to move around the office, walk to other offices throughout the medical center carrying light objects such as correspondence, supplies, etc. Some standing, bending, and stooping, is required when filing.
