About the Position: Position performs a wide variety of tasks in support of the missions and functions of the Division, to include providing administrative support for several subordinate branches. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), Officer Personnel Management Directorate (OPMD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Duties

Review outgoing correspondence for conformance with regulations, grammar, format and command policies. Maintain several tracking systems using spreadsheet capability provided by software packages. Provide office automation supporting the division and subordinate branches. Maintain the Division Chief's calendar and based on the knowledge of the office workload and current issues of importance and schedules appointments and meetings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires completion of one (1) year probationary period unless the requirement has been previously met.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type at least forty (40) words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Specialized Experience GS 07: One-year specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative and support duties in areas such as administration, travel, files management, property accountability, personnel accountability, and reports; utilizing regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes governing administrative management functions; providing guidance and assisting customers on travel, reports, timekeeping, property and supplies, and record management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). This position is developmental and may be filled at the GS-06 or GS 07 level. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted pending time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the next level/grade duties. The full performance level for this position is GS-07.
