About the Position: This position is located within the Madigan Army Medical Center located on the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. Incumbent will serve as a Security Assistant within the medical treatment facility (MTF) initiating, coordinating, and tracking initial and periodic reverification of background checks for healthcare personnel.
Tour of Duty Hours are Monday-Friday 0730-1600.

Duties
Conduct in/out-processing for Soldiers, DA Civilians, and other personnel assigned to the organization.
Complete manual and automated fingerprint scans for candidates and personnel's background investigations
Serve as the Background Check Coordinator and personnel security investigation assistant.
Prepare background packages for personnel and candidates within a medical treatment facility (MTF).
Document and track all background investigations for personnel and candidates.
Communicate background findings with the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Incumbent is required to be screened for applicable immunizations and subject to missing/required immunizations IAW AR 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes initiating and tracking background packets for personnel; utilizing office automation software to enter and retrieve data, create reports, and/or draft correspondence; assisting with taking personnel fingerprints for background checks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
