The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of Support & Registrar for classes offered by Office Training School, with full responsibility for all activities encompassing the processing and maintenance of student files/records.
Duties
Serve as technical advisor to the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Squadron Commander, Director of Operations, and Student Services Chief on all registrar matters and assists with coordination and communication of such matters with the 22nd PAC
Serve as the Resource Advisor for 217 TRS at Maxwell AFB
Receive, screen, and answer telephonic and in-person visitors
Responsible for the accuracy/relevancy of course and student data populated into and extracted out of the worldwide Air Force personnel data system and other various OTS academic programs
Proof reports and correspondence, maintains supervisor's calendars, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences

- Incumbent may be required to travel by regularly scheduled military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDYs
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- Position may perform other duties as assigned
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
- Bachelor's degree, preferably a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English is highly desirable
- Require an AETC instructor certification, preferably completion of the Academic Immersion Course (AIC)
- Preferably a background that lends to understanding military culture, expectations, and standards
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Superior Qualifications may be considered
- Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
- TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE PAID
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
For the GS-07:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) knowledge of basic principles of the classified titled or related field; (2) Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives; (3) Knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly.

EDUCATION: Applicants must have successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
For the GS-09:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (1) Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of the classified title, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments; (2) Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives; (3) Knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as flight operations. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

For the GS-11:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (1) Specialized knowledge of Academic Records sufficient to serve as technical advisor to top management on the application of directives and regulatory materials pertaining to students; (2) Knowledge of the ANGRC academic mission, objectives, programs, and projects to provide data and supporting historical reference ensuring the command receives all information to reach an accurate and quality decision when meeting objectives and using resources; (3) Knowledge of administrative processes common to academic records sufficient to produce relative reports and recommend changes as appropriate; (4) Knowledge of computer software, network applications and operation of personal computers required, academic records and sufficient to input and pull information for statistical purposes.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of all aspects of military educational institution.
Knowledge of statistical analyses principles, techniques, and practices
Skill in interacting with a wide variety of people in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
Skill in application of computer databases, and to use office automation tools and techniques to retrieve, design, and generate reports, briefing materials, and other documents
Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts and draw conclusions. Devise solutions to problems and identify change and trends.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to include the ability to deal with diverse populations from educationally disadvantaged or vocationally underdeveloped to college graduates, is necessary
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
