About the Position: Works as a journeyman level Budget Analyst in the TWCF or APF Budget Division of the Deputy Chief for Resource Management (DCSRM), Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC).
Duties
Prepare budget schedules and other statistical and narrative documentation.
Coordinate the exchange of budgetary information with other government and civilian agencies.
Review budget execution to identify funding shortfalls within assigned programs.
Gather and/or analyze data to construct budgetary justification materials.
Analyze historical data to identify trends and/or assess funding requirements.
Analyze the propriety, adequacy, and/or consistency with prior performances against current utilization of funding.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This is a financial management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyze and summarize historical data to identify trends and to assess funding requirements. 2) Experience in formulating annual programs budget estimates. 3) Budget execution experience including monitoring and tracking program allocations, obligations, and expenditure of funds. 4) Identify problem areas, researches, determines, and implements corrective courses of action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
