About the Position: Incumbent is responsible for performing, providing, obtaining, and/or advising on a variety of management services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the organization.

Duties

Establishes internal procedures to secure adequate control in terms of deadlines, progress reports, and directives. Maintain a variety of reports about personnel and pay actions utilizing the automated personnel database. Conduct statistical analysis of training events, promotions, awards, etc., to identify problem areas, deficiencies, or imbalances. Keep training resources available for employees to peruse for training opportunities. Work directly with operating level managers regarding all aspects of administrative management. Serves as a liaison with the Human Resources Office to resolve issues and problems applicable to personnel actions.

Specialized Experience GS - 09: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in (1) Assisting in developing administrative procedures; Or (2) Assisting in preparing and maintaining reports; Or (3) Maintaining administrative records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS -11: One year of specialized experience which includes(1) performing personnel management and manpower requirements; Or (2) develop internal administrative procedures following policies and regulations; Or (3) providing training and administrative support to employees or staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementTeamworkWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07 for GS-09; GS-09 for GS-11).
