Duties
Introductory Statement: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the director of the community center in program operation.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in the planning, organizing, development, coordinating and administration of Community Center activities and programs such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games and events, and self-directed leisure as well as base wide special events. Recommends new programming activities, to include type of format and resources the activity
would require. Gathers information from a number of different sources, including past programs and current popular programs in other communities. Assists individuals with special interests to develop clubs or special interest groups. Assists in promoting marketing strategies. Assists in the upkeep and preparation of the Community Center to include setting up rooms to support meeting group
needs. Greets facility users and conducts facility tours. Decorates facility to reflect holiday and program themes. Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures. Performs day to day budget management actions such as tracking funds distribution, reconciling commitment/obligation, and reallocating assigned program funds. Assists in maintaining facility to meet operational standards. Works with other staff members, volunteer and/or individual/personal services contract personnel. Establishes, develops and maintains effective working relationships with serviced population, installation personnel, and representative of the local community. Meets with key customer and coordinating official to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization
policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Incumbent must maintain and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain a CPR certification
- Must be able to obtain a Government Purchase Card

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs in a community recreation program is required. Practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned strongly desired. Must have skills in preparing forms, schedules, and reports related to the obligation and expenditure of funds. Must have Knowledge of office automation software. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and possess skill in dealing with the public.
Condition(s) of Employment: Ability to obtain a CPR certification within 90 days of employment. Ability to obtain a government purchase card within 90 days of employment. Must possess a valid state driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position; incumbent is subject to random drug testing/or drug use. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier I Level) is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
