About the position: This position will be assigned to Gator Lakes Golf Course and is not guaranteed a set amount of hours, but can be scheduled 0 - 40 hours per week.

Duties
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day duties of Recreation Assistants, Recreation Aids, and Custodial Workers assigned to the Golf Course. Plans, organizes, and coordinates the details of recurring & nonrecurring duties of the golf course pro shop. Organizes and schedules tournaments, intramural play and special events for the golf course; maintains annual tournament schedule. Monitors event/tournament to ensure rules are enforced and planned activities are carried out. Provides information, customer service, product knowledge, basic instructional pointers, club fitting, and miscellaneous equipment awareness to golf groups or event participant. Performs, assigns, and instructs employees in the operation and maintenance of Pro Shop facilities and equipment. Maintains all annual green fee membership records and handicap records. Uses automated tournament management software to manage individual events and maintains a complete handicap system for accurate tournament use. Collects and deposits monies and prepares daily and weekly financial reports. Resolves customer complaints, referring more technical complaints to supervisor. Develops and coordinates all marketing pertaining to the golf operation aspect of the course with the manager. Responsible for overseeing the course marshal and starter programs and maintains operation of the driving range. Ensures that range ball inventories are maintained, and that range ball picker is maintained in working order. Ensures that a complete maintenance schedule, log and rotation plan is maintained for 60+ gas/electric golf carts. Assists manager in conducting pro shop inventories, preparing NAF operating budgets, and NAF Capital Expenditure budgets. Tracks labor and inventory costs in the pro shop, making adjustments necessary to meet budget goals. Assists in the development of minor and major construction projects. Responsible for workforce management, recruitment, staff training, discipline & evaluations. Prepares schedules, assigns work, approves/disapproves leave requests, maintains discipline and takes necessary disciplinary actions, prepares annual & mid-term performance evaluations; recommends award and/or pay increases. Plans and organizes in-service training programs to include, but not limited to safety, resource protection, and POS procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in a golf course operation which provided a basic knowledge of pro shop, golf cart, and driving range operations. Must have experience in the game of golf and extensive knowledge of the rules, procedures and etiquette of a golf course. Knowledge of golf club repair and skills in the upkeep of golf equipment. Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other procession of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have a working knowledge of computers and computers programs (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance, and over 40 pounds with assistance. Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, & holidays. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
