About the Position: This position serves as the Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) for the US Army MEDDAC, Human Resources Division, Military Personnel in Fort Riley, KS.

Duties

Formulates and implements plans, policies and procedures. Handles the most serious complaints and problems of the MEDDAC and Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) as they relate to Human Resource military personnel programs/actions. Assigns priorities and assures accomplishment of work in accordance with prescribed regulations, policies, and procedures. Establishes standards of performance, review work upon completion as needed. Oversees and supervises the operation of several military personnel programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A SECRET clearance is required.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and evaluating proposed military personnel policies, practices, and has a thorough knowledge of the basic concepts, principles and theories of personnel management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Program Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
