About the Position: This position is located at the Army Benefits Center-Civilian on Main Post, Injury Compensation Branch, Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Senior technical expert and leader in a consolidated benefits center responsible for advising the work force on Worker's Compensation, federal benefits and entitlement regulatory requirements for highly complex cases, employees or organizations.
Collaborates with supervisors on initiating special projects and studies. Assists in developing and/or develops procedures to meet the personnel needs of management and the work force; as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
The work also requires in-depth knowledge of all Worker's Compensation, federal benefits and entitlement programs and services.
Leads team of Human Resources Specialists who execute the duties within a Workers’ Compensation Branch who specialize in highly complex workload functions.

Experience Required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: 1 year of work equivalent to the GS-12 grade level that involves interpreting guidelines, regulations and directives concerning complex civilian benefits and worker's compensation cases; utilization of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS), Defense Injury Unemployment Compensation System (DIUCS) and the Benefits Automated Tracking System as it pertains to benefits and worker's compensation; conducting research, gathering facts, and utilizing effective analytical and evaluative methods to accurately access information and make sound recommendations and decisions; informing employee about their entitlements and use of grievance or appeal procedures.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
