About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Headquarters, Department of the Army, participates in all aspects of the Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) Process, located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serve as a Budget Analyst in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Headquarters, Department of the Army.
Participate in all aspects of the Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) Process.
Provide decision maker(s) with a sound qualitative and quantitative basis to formulate a judgment, select an alternative, and make decisions.
Identify problems, develop alternative courses of action, and present findings and recommendations to the Sustaining Program Evaluation Group (SS PEG) Executive and Senior G-4 leadership.
Analyze policies, directives, and changes in resource requirements and funding for assigned programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel.
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 3 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing recommendations and programmatic information to leadership for planning, programming, and allocation of resources; interpreting legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance in authorizations and appropriations bills, Congressional committee reports, and Executive Orders; and providing information to support the preparation of budget estimates to higher level staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
