About the Position: You will serve as Chief, Memphis District (MVM) Real Estate Division. You will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the real estate program of the District which includes project planning, appraisal, acquisition, management and disposal of real property, and Real Property Accountability duties.
This position is a situational telework position, which includes emergency telework. There may be opportunity for recurring telework per management's discretion.
Duties
Plans, directs, manages, monitors, coordinates and controls, administers, and terminates various projects and programs through subordinate Branch Chiefs in accordance with delegated authority.
Evaluates disposal actions on surplus and excess lands, easements, and rights-of-way owned by the Government.
Oversees establishment of operating procedures and policies, in accordance with general delegated authorities and specific legislation.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees and assists employees in career development.
Evaluates the performance of subordinate supervisors and some nonsupervisory subordinates and serves as higher level reviewer on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors
Outlines policy and overall program requirements and objectives to Branch Chiefs, and coordinates and monitors the execution of assigned functions.

- You must be able to obtain and maintain the qualifications for a Real Estate Level II, Certificate of Appointment Delegation, within 2 years.
- Business Travel / TDY is 25%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing recommendations based on subject matter expertise on real estate principles, policies and methodologies in property acquisition, planning, real estate management controls, disposals, leases, easements and licenses or permits; providing program direction and advice to subordinate organization elements; conducting operations within a large regional area involving complex issues; and administering various real estate contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
