You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LEGAL ASSISTANT (OA) in the satellite office at Cherry Point.
Duties
You will interpret and apply legal principles, concepts, and regulations to explain matters concerning military justice, courts-martial reviews, or administrative separation processing to others.
You will draft non-judicial (NJP) punishment charges, NJP rights advisements, Article 31b rights advisement documents, appeals rights notification, and other post NJP documents for dissemination.
You will act as custodian of all documents, real evidence, and appellate exhibits introduced or admitted during the trial and upon completion of the trial for the trial records.
You will orally answer routine questions regarding legal assistance services, procedures, and alternative resources.
You will serve as the primary source of assistance in matters concerning military naturalization case processing for active duty service members.
You will provide first line technical and administrative supervision and guidance in these cases.
You will advise applicants and assists them in the completion of correct forms and requirements to become a United States citizen.
You will serve as the liaison with military administrative offices, Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Headquarters Marine Corps, and Immigration and Naturalization Service to accommodate the client and accomplish the mission.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your reponse to the typing skill questions on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- This position requires the incumbent to serve a one year probationary period.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing a variety of legal technical assistance services to attorneys such as preparing case file documents for formal actions involving potential litigation, arbitration hearing, and the processing of non-judicial punishment proceedings.
