The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the dedicated Security Manager for the 709th Surveillance and Analysis Group (SAG), the 21st Surveillance Squadron, the 22nd Surveillance Squadron , the 23rd Analysis Squadron, the 24th Analysis Squadron, and the USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory, two USNS ships operating in PACOM and CENTCOM, two Remote Operating Centers and Building 988.
Duties
Monitors Group security programs for compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and USAF standards, instructions, and governing directives/guidance. When necessary, it will be required to develop and implement internal Security Operations Instructions (SOI) while ensuring proper research and staffing before approval.
Provides direction and assistance to Group personnel assigned, and to contractors assigned to the group on collateral and SCI security programs.
Ensures all assigned personnel are given thorough security awareness training.
Actively involved in Commander's Inspection Program and compliance with local Special Security Office (SSO) directives/policies.
Provides direct support to Security Programs affecting the respective work centers and ensures classified information is protected.

- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

- Employee may be required to undergo random CI polygraph examinations in accordance with security regulations involving material handled.
- Position may require overtime and/or irregular hours to include shift work.
Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of AF and DoD security regulations, instructions, practices, and procedures related to Force protection, information/physical/personnel/industrial security, and OPSEC; knowledge/experience in security training concepts, programs, procedures in order to assist group personnel in establishing effective security program/s. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Skill in analysis and production of reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of the respective security program; to include formulating, gathering, organizing, and analyzing information, resolving conflicts, and presenting clear/concise findings or recommendations.
Knowledge of AF and DoD security regulations, instructions, practices, and procedures related to Force protection, information/physical/personnel/industrial security, and OPSEC.
Knowledge/experience in security training concepts, programs, procedures in order to assist group personnel in establishing effective security program/s.
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in order to produce reports and briefings to high- level audiences is required.
Knowledge and ability to safeguard classified information.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
