Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. To qualify for the GS-14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13. Specialized experience for the position includes: Identifying and developing ways to resolve problems or dealing with issues which directly affect the conduct of program operations; and Establishing criteria to measure and/or predict attainment of program or organizational goals and objectives; and Completing decision packages, staff studies, and recommendations, which affect major administrative aspects of missions and programs or affect the quality and quantity of services; and Providing consultative and advisory services to Bureau management and Justice officials; and Preparing in-depth reports, analyses, correspondence, briefing papers, and other written materials on the Bureau's activities and responding to Congressional inquiries, criticisms of the Bureau's functions, performance.
