DCSA's CI/Insider Threat Directorate is seeking a Writer/Editor. In this role you will coordinate within the directorate to review, edit, craft language in finished intelligence products and policy documents relating to the Agency's national security mission. This is an excellent opportunity if you have solid knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC), DoD and IC writing styles, and enjoy working collaboratively with intelligence analysts, editors, and visual information specialist.

Duties

As a WRITER EDITOR you will be responsible for the following duties: - Review and edit documents and presentations for logical development, style, grammar, conformance with policy, consistency, clarity, accuracy, and exactness of expression. - Develop written products that articulate, interpret, and explain highly complex, potentially controversial intelligence, policy, or administrative topics. - Collaborate with analysts to improve quality of written products.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GG/GS 12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Applying knowledge of the Intelligence Field in the development of new methods, approaches, and procedures. Structuring new dissemination techniques or as complicated as recognizing and developing new uses for finished intelligence and new sources for raw intelligence. Abstracting, synthesizing, creating, and analyzing intelligence reports and presentations. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Communications and Media: Knowledge of the production, communication and dissemination of information and ideas to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. 3. Interpersonal Skills: Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences. 4.Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
