Duties
Serves as an Editor/Writer within the Behavioral Programs Branch, Marine and Family Programs Division (MF), Headquarters Marine Corps. Provides executive level editorial support for all Behavioral Programs correspondence and tasks. The target audience for material consists of Members of Congress, Department of Defense (DOD), Commandant of the Marine Corps, and MF Leadership.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor¿s degree in Communication or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND three years of experience writing and editing technical documents, processes, and procedures; OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above; OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. A background in behavioral health or a related field is preferred. Must have expert knowledge to write and edit documents tailored to specified media and audiences, often to include substantial rewriting.Broad knowledge of publishing concepts, practices, standards, and technologies for the media used.Knowledge of design, graphics, colors, layout and illustration techniques to showcase the material in an integrated, readable manner to facilitate the comprehension and understanding of the intended audience.Ability to use own judgment and creative skills to interpret programs, policies, and other initiatives of high interest for internal and external audiences.Must have a high degree of initiative, creativity, and professional skill.Telework: Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MF policy.
