The incumbent serves as a Media Logistics Assistant in the House Press Gallery and works as a non-partisan employee of the House, providing access and information about Congress to credentialed members of the daily press corps.

Qualifications

Requirements: ·       Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public policy or a related field, or equivalent experience. Capitol Hill news media experience preferred. ·       Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion ·       Proficient knowledge and understanding of legislative process ·       Proficient knowledge of House operations ·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills ·       Ability to handle competing interests, personalities and job duties simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy ·       Willingness to work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required ·       Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, social media, Google Docs, and Photoshop ·       Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision *Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
