Duties
You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist in the Information and Personnel Security Division (N00SM2), Security Office – Security Manager (N00SM) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT).
You will serve as the Special Security Representative (SSR) responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the facilities Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program.
You will lead a team of 2 military personnel by planning and directing the work assignments, establishing priorities, quality standards, methods and procedures, oversight and guidance under the direction of the NCTAMS LANT Personnel Security Officer.
You will evaluate eligibility for access to classified material up to Top Secret/SCI, in addition to, all special access programs.
You will provide day-to-day guidance, expertise, and instruction to security assistants in the administration of an effective SCI Information Security Program that applies adequate safeguards and protections of classified and SCI information.
You will formulate and administer the Command SCI Education Programs, which includes formal training classes for employees, supervisors, and managers.
You will provide initial security indoctrination and continuing training for appointed security department representatives and command personnel.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating security programs.
-Experience communicating security policies and procedures orally and written to personnel and management.
-Experience screening and rendering decisions on granting personnel access to sensitive and classified material up to Top Secret/SCI.
-Experience conducting orientation and indoctrination briefings in classroom environment and interviewing personnel on case-by-case basis to gain information or to resolve issues regarding security clearances.

Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR
LL.M, if related.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements for the position.
